History in Motion Exhibit

History in Motion is our massive model train layout simulating life in the mid 20th century. The display models the operations of Southern Ontario Railways between Windsor and Niagara Falls when steam, diesel, and electric railways were all competing.

The layout is certainly worth seeing - the room is approximately 1,200 square feet of meticulously recreated history! Many of the wonderful buildings from our history are depicted, including the Michigan Central Locomotive Shops, the Car Shop, the Canada Southern Station, Roundhouse and Turntable. Additional dioramas include the Wabash Railroad Yard, London and Port Stanley Railway, and the Port Stanley Incline Railway. The work of dedicated members and volunteers, this exhibit will take you back to the past, to explore our history and delight with its unique charm.
