Welcome to the Elgin County Museum! The Museum opened in its new facility on the fourth floor of the Administration building at 450 Sunset Drive

The Elgin Historical Society can trace its roots to the Elgin Historical & Scientific Institute, founded in 1891. Throughout the years the Society has sought to preserve and promote the history of Elgin County.

Iron Horse Festival

Port Stanley Terminal Rail is an operating tourist railway. We are located in the beautiful, lakeside village of Port Stanley, Ontario, Canada. We have been operating trains safely for over 30 years and look forward to your visit. PSTR is Elgin County's longest running tourist attraction!

All train rides are FREE! Pick up your tickets at the Canada Southern Railway Station on the day of the train ride. First come, first serve! Donations are greatly appreciated and will help support future Iron Horse Festivals and preserving the Canada Southern Railway Station.

Come ride the streetcars! Located at 13629 Guelph Line in Milton, Ontario the Halton County Radial Railway (HCRR) is a full-size operating electric railway and museum, featuring historic electric railcars operating on two kilometers of scenic track.

Located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the Alberta Railway Museum (ARM) is a rustic outdoor display of railway equipment and buildings. The museum replicates a small terminal with station, water tank and shops.

The Rocky Mountain Rail Society is a registered non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to the preservation of Canadian National Railway steam locomotive 6060, "The Spirit of Alberta."

Born out of the Canadian Railroad Historical Association (CRHA), Exporail, The Canadian Railway Museum, continues the legacy of the passionate volunteers who made it possible to preserve and enhance Canada's rich railway heritage.

Needing a place to safely store and restore his fleet of railroad old-timers, Jerry acquired 34 acres of farm land located immediately adjacent to the Ohio Central Railroad main line track, and right alongside a road named Smokey Lane.

Did you know that 2014 is St. Thomas Public Library’s 130th Anniversary?
Imagine that! After digging in our archive, we have a copy of a handwritten bylaw that City Council passed in 1884, stating that a free library would be established January 1885

Thanks to the many people who took the time to take photographs along the Canada Southern division of the New York Central over the years, we can offer this large selection of photos taking us back in time when the CASO was a vibrant fast paced railroad serving Southern Ontario.
