Volunteer with us

The Elgin County Railway Museum depends on the dedication and commitment of our volunteers. You don’t have to be a train enthusiast to participate. Roles in which you can participate include:

-Tour Guide
-Museum Store Cashier
-Artifacts/Collection Cataloger
-Building & Grounds Maintenance
-Workshop Crew
-Special Events

What Do Volunteers Do?
– Interact with visitors on guided tours
-Gain work experience in the museum store
-Assist with Special Events – Activity Stations, Food Concession, etc.

Time Commitment
-One mandatory training day
-4 Hour Regular Open Hours Shifts
-Hours for Special Events may vary (typically 4-6 hour shifts)


Our museum depends on the generous donations of our community partners and members to help keep things running. Your monetary donations support our operations, building maintenance and improvements, restoration projects, and the maintenance and expansion of our artifacts.
